What's new on the farm?
The farm is almost 23 acres, the hill in front is about 6 acres more or less and is where the house is. The house is about 150 feet from the road but the driveway is closer to 300 feet the way it comes up the hill. The house has R.V. hookups (well, almost) which were put to use when Donald's parents stayed for a month this past summer. The rest of the farm (about 17 acres) is in pasture with some woods in the rear. There are two ponds. The big one in front is shared with the neighbor and there is a small one in the trees in back.
It was a busy summer. Donald planted a small garden in the front yard (with his Dad's help). Mom (Donald's) bought a very small barn (or large shed) for storage. She didn't like what was laying around outside.
Did a lot of clearing and cutting down storm damage from a severe ice storm this past winter. Still have wood on the back side of the hill to bring up.
Now we are cutting a road to the back along the east fence line. Actually, we are clearing a large area to the east of the drive. It looks like we will be able to put a house in for one of the kids.
We hope to get the road cut at least to where we want to put a barn. We would like to put a 30 X 40 barn to the east of the house. Far enough so we don't have to look at it but close enough for a incubation/clinic/nursery for the Ostrich.
